ADVOCAting fOR BuSinESS
Monitoring, educating and influencing our local and state
elected officials to take a pro-business stance. our efforts
resulted in a consolidation of the city and county permitting
office, creating a one-stop for real estate development.
Working with other chambers, we successfully opposed
the Mandated Paid sick Leave proposal.
ECOnOMiC DEVElOPMEnt
The Chamber is a leader in work force development
initiatives including the Teen Career Awareness Project,
the Employer Resource Fair and the Employer Resource
Guide.
We financially support the county economic development
efforts through an annual contribution to the southeastern
ohio Port Authority and we foster entrepreneurship by
supporting the Marietta small Business development
Center for small business assistance.
